“Which came first?  The chicken or the egg?”  It’s an age old question.  I decided to order them both from Amazon and I’ll let you know.  🙂 

I began building an 8×8 chicken coop on our back acre (we live on two) and a 832 square foot chicken run so my 20 hens and 1 rooster (Johnny Cock-run) could get the wiggles out.  It has come along quite well.  Some people have noticed I haven’t written any blogs in a loooong time.  I’d like to say I’ve been too busy working on the chicken coop/run…but really, I just haven’t made this blog a priority.  It’s that simple.  I’ll try for a little while to change that and get back into the blog for another season of writing.  I just need to make it a priority.

Our priorities in life, hopefully, get the fullest attention of our time and energy. Not in any particular order – Children, Spouse, Parents, Job, Church, Faith, Health, Exercise, Quiet Time, Entertainment, Sabbath, Scripture, Music, Painting, Gardening, oh, the list can go on and on.  What are your priorities and are your priorities getting your fullest attention?

I heard a statistic today stating we are spending on average 11 hours per day connected to media/internet in some way.  Whether it is school work, watching Netflix, building boards in Pinterest, Tweet’n or Snapp’n, or many other things one can do, (some beneficial, some horrific,) we must examine our priorities.  We should ask if they are beneficial to my soul, my faith, my walk with Jesus and my ability to share His love in this world.

I, like many, use media/internet daily in my work and for some recreation.  Nevertheless, I really enjoy disconnecting from the media (which I am currently on to type and publish this blog) in order to get back to the natural world on my two acres with my chickens and dogs, the cardinals and copperheads, the buzzards and the bats, the woodpecker, hawk and bobcat as well as the cows and horses next door.  My wife and I enjoy our new place which we moved into a year ago.  It has taken us about a year to get established there.  And now, I have a little time to blog.  We’ll see if it lasts as a priority. 🙂
