At first read, you may think that Jesus has only come for a select few.  When He says He’s come not for the righteous but for the sinners, you might think it’s a subset of the whole population.  But as we know, and as the Holy Scriptures declare, everyone is a sinner (Romans 3:23)  Thus, Jesus words actually show He has come for all people for all people are sinners.  His call is to repentance.  Not something our culture want to hear.  Not something we sinners want to hear.  Yet, through confessing of sin and a turning away from a sin filled life we find forgiveness and freedom in Christ.  Trusting in what Jesus has done on the cross winning us that great gift of salvation, we can rejoice in faith, freedom and forgiveness.  Simply put, in Christ, we are made righteous.  (Romans 3:21-24; 8:1)
