“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 5:10

Throughout history, there have been lots of people, groups of people, who have been persecuted for their beliefs. Jesus informs His hearers two things: 1. there will be persecution from the world for following Him, and 2. The persecuted ones will receive a great reward of eternal life in the kingdom of heaven.  Earthly persecution becomes a small price to pay for the eternal, abundant riches found in Jesus.  Hang in there, my friends, the best is yet to come.
